9:30a - Thank you!!!!!!!!
You are the beautiful people, you know that, right???
My friend has her juice back on!
So many of you helped, I would like to thank each and every one of you! THANK YOU!
I know there must be people out there reading this, have aided, who haven't commented, because you are like that.
I don't know who you are, but you know who you are. You all deserve a big warm hug!
You all have made a difference in someone's life. That is huge! Do you realize HOW HUGE that is? To bring a ray of hope to one person, let alone a whole family of people; HUGE! Your generosity of money and spirit has blown me away. And my friend too. She is grateful and speechless.
A word about my friend, in order to do this for her, (to get her permission) I guaranteed her anonymity. (Many of you do know her, she's a lover, she is a fighter, she is a dooer of good deeds; an all round kick ass human being.) She was really very reluctant when I approached her about doing this. For those of you who haven't experienced poverty, (and I'm not talking "broke" as in, 'We only have $100, $1000, or whatever in the bank'...'We won't be able to buy a Wii, or a new car' ...I'm talking, "I don't know where my next meal is going to come from") I can and will tell you first hand, there is alot of shame around being poor, genuinely without money. So, while I was a bit sad that she didn't come forth with information about her situation sooner, I totally get why she didn't. I totally understand her apprehension of taking something from people she may or may not know. I get that, and I know many of you do too.
Sadly, her situation is not uncommon. It is such a travesty that in our day and age, in this country, that apparently has billions upon billions of dollars to squander on blowing the shit out of another country, we can't take care of our fellow human beings & neighbors. It stings like a SOB. Take NOLA for example. It makes my blood fucking boil. Classism, racism, and greed are still driving forces here in these united states. United my ass. United by profit, perhaps.
But, you, YOU are the beautiful people. By hitting that donate button, you staged a revolution. By thinking good thoughts for this family, you changed the world.
Alone, we make drops in the bucket; together we build a well. Being an agent for change is a remarkable thing. You all are my heroes. Especially, you, who only had 5.05 in your paypal account, but you gave 5. You fucking blow me away.
I will ask some of you one more favor. Even if you don't like me, and skimmed past my plea for helping these folx out. Next time you are at the store, please pick up some extra non-perishable food item; and I'm not talkin about the generic cocoa puffs, but something healthy and nutritions; and drop it off at your local food shelf. You can skip your fancy bottle of wine for this week. It won't kill you.
I know I'm coming off very ranty. The epidemic of poverty is so outstanding that it warrants my passions being flared. When you are poor, it is easy to feel forgotten about, easy to loose hope. Let us try to spread hope to our neighbors today, tomorrow, and next month. Remember, there are still people in NOLA who don't have a pot to piss in. There might be people in your town like that too.

I would also like to thank everyone who has bid on the auction! (and an extra thank you for those of you who are helping spread the word about it!) It is currently exceeding my expectations! (KICK ASS!) And the winning bidder will get what they paid for, if you know what I mean.

Finally, thank you for listening to me, helping, loving, and being as outraged at the man as I am. You all are remarkable souls, and I'm grateful that I have come to find you in my life.

XO!
